Sum of its Parts is a stop motion animated short film I completed in November of 2019, just in time to begin screening at festivals in early 2020. Unfortunately, its very first festival screening was cancelled. Eventually, Sum of its Parts screened at virtual film fests all over the world in 2020 and 2021, and is still making the festival rounds.
The film is about mysterious forest creatures that move to the beat of the music. I animated it entirely outdoors in the Hudson Valley using a technique called replacement animation. The music is by Scott Ampleford.
